The Lionfish
Pterois Volitans, also know as “lionfish” is native to the waters of the Indo-Pacific Ocean, but has now become an unwelcome visitor at the Mexican Caribbean.
The lionfish reached the Caribbean waters in 1992, after the devastating Hurricane Andrew hit an aquarium in the city of Miami in the United States, causing six red lionfish to be washed into the sea. Continue reading →
